Air Fryer Sausage Patties – Evenly browned and cooked to perfection, our turkey sausage patties feature garlic, olive oil, and flavorful spices. Prepared in the air fryer, they are tasty without all the mess and splatter of stovetop cooking. Like Air Fryer Turkey Burgers, these patties are easy to make and loaded with flavor.

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS RECIPE

  • Turkey: Select a dark-meat ground turkey that is 80-90% lean, so you have more fat to flavor and keep the patties together. I use turkey for this recipe, but try ground beef, chicken, or pork if you prefer.
  • Garlic: I suggest using two cloves, but don’t let my recipe tell you how much garlic to use – measure with your heart.
  • Spices: Season the air fryer sausage patties with salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, dried thyme, and cayenne.
  • Olive Oil: Olive oil helps maintain moisture and deeply flavors the patties; you can also use avocado oil or mayonnaise.

HOW TO FRY SAUSAGE PATTIES IN THE AIR FRYER

Preheat the air fryer to 350° F (176° C) and use a food scale to portion 2 ounces of ground turkey per patty.

EXPERT TIPS

  • Refrigerate the turkey mixture before forming and cooking the sausage patties.
  • Turkey is lean and prone to drying out, so avoid overcooking the patties. You’ll know they are done when they reach a temperature of 165° F (73° C); use a food thermometer for a more accurate reading. 
  • Use your thumb to press down in the center of each patty to prevent them from shrinking as they cook.

WHAT TO DO WITH THE LEFTOVERS 

  • Refrigerate – Store leftovers in an airtight container; they will keep for 3 days.
  • Freeze – Wrap and store uncooked turkey patties for 3 months. Cooked turkey burgers will keep for 1-2 months. To prevent freezer burn, layer plastic wrap over the burger patties before securing them in an airtight container.
  • Thaw – When you’re ready to eat, defrost them in the fridge overnight.
  • Reheat – Warm leftover patties in the microwave or preheat the air fryer to 350° F (176° C) and cook them for 3-5 minutes.
  • Repurpose –  Use the turkey to make a breakfast casserole or skillet. You can also break the sausage up and fill a burrito or quesadilla.

Fresh: I cook fresh or homemade sausage patties for 15 minutes in the air fryer at 350° F (176° C).
Frozen: Frozen patties require only 5 minutes at 400°F (205°C).

How long to put frozen sausage patties in air fryer?

Frozen sausage patties are pre-cooked, so they require less cooking time. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (205°C) and cook the patties for about 5 minutes.

I LOVED these juicy and so great for a healthy high protein breakfast meal. I really don't like frozen store bought patties and these are godsend.
