Chili Con Carne Recipe

Warm up with a bowl of savory, Southwest-style chili con carne. Ours is made with hearty beef chuck, black beans, & a variety of chilies.

Blister dried chilies in a Dutch oven over high heat.

Remove the chilies & add them to a food processor with chicken broth.

Warm oil in the Dutch oven over medium heat; add a single layer of chuck roast & sear to form a crust.

Add onions & saute until they become translucent & soften. Stir in the minced garlic.

Season the onions with cinnamon, cumin, allspice, & Mexican oregano; cook for 1-2 minutes.

Return the beef & the reserved chili mixture to the Dutch oven with Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, fish sauce, black beans, & tomato paste.

Cover & cook for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
