Instant Pot Chicken Biryani

Our Instant Pot Chicken Biryani combines chicken, fragrant basmati rice, caramelized onion, and warm Indian spices and cooks in just one hour!

Wash the rice until water runs clear, & soak in water for at least 20 minutes.

Add the onion & cook until they caramelize & brown.

Reserved half the onion & set it aside.

JAMIL GHAR

Next, add cumin seed, green cardamom, & the star anise; cook for 30 seconds.

Arrange the chicken & the excess paste into Instant Pot, then add the remaining dry spices.

Stir in the salt & bay leaves. Secure the lid & cook on manual high pressure for 4 minutes with quick release

Cook one cup of rice separately. Then, add remaining 2 cups of rice, salt, & 2 cups of water to the Instant Pot. Secure the lid & cook for 8 minutes with quick release.
