Moroccan  Meatballs

Moroccan meatballs or kefta are flavored with cumin, paprika, coriander, & cinnamon- meatballs simmer in a tomato gravy with onion, garlic, ginger, & dates.

JAMIL GHAR

Combine ground beef, cardamom, coriander, cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, & egg in a mixing bowl; knead for 3 minutes.

Roll the mixture into 1- 1½ inch meatballs & set them aside.

Warm olive oil in a skillet over medium heat & fry the meatballs in batches.

JAMIL GHAR

In the same pan, cook the onions until they become translucent & soften.

JAMIL GHAR

Stir in the freshly minced garlic & ginger, followed by the pureed tomatoes & dates.

JAMIL GHAR

Return the reserved meatballs to the pan along with the chicken broth.

JAMIL GHAR

Simmer over medium-low heat for 8-10 minutes.
