Instant Pot  Moon Dal

Yellow lentils are infused with garlic, ginger, tomatoes and seasoned with chilies and warm Indian spices for this this Instant Pot moong dal

Add onion, green chilies, & aromatics. Cook until onions brown & caramelize.

Stir in the ginger, garlic,  & spices, then deglaze with  pureed tomatoes.

Pour in the rinsed moong dal, salt, & water. Secure the lid, & set it to manual high pressure for 20 minutes with 5 minutes natural release.

Stir the dal to check the consistency.

Garnish with  caramelized onion, cilantro, & serve with basmati rice.
