Air Fried Plantains are a quick and easy side dish to make, and they pair well with everything from stew to tacos.

  • 2 plantains, ripe
  • 4 sprays cooking spray
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
Instructions
 
  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (176°C). Add the plantains to the air fryer basket in a single layer and spray them with cooking oil. Sprinkle salt over the top.
  • Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
  • Serve the plantain slices hot, with serrano crema or as a side dish.
Notes
Expert Tips: 
  • Choose plantains that are ripe but not overly ripe or blackened. The ideal plantain for air frying should be yellow with black spots.
  •  Slice the plantains at an angle, ¼ to ½ - inch thick, for an even sear.
  •  Toss the plantain slices with oil to help them cook evenly and crisp up.
  •  Arrange the plantain slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure that they are not overlapping.
